Meet Our Team
Juanita Hidalgo
Assistant Professor, PI
Juanita joined NYU as an Assistant Professor in September 2025, where she leads the Circularity in Energy Materials research group. She earned her PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from Georgia Tech in 2023, focusing on structure-property relationships in lead-halide perovskites for solar cells. Before coming to NYU, Dr. Hidalgo was a Postdoctoral Fellow of Engineering Excellence at MIT, studying solid-sate ionic materials and developing strategies for nanocatalyst design. In her group, she now brings together advanced characterization, solid-state chemistry, and sustainability to design circular pathways for next-generation energy materials. Beyond research and teaching, she likes running and spending time with friends.
